Personalized Order Changed Without My Approval

I ordered a personalized dog ID tag for $33.50 because I wanted to support a small Maine business. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
My order confirmation reflected the exact wording and layout I requested, but the business changed it without consulting me. The website provided no character limits or warnings about engraving restrictions.
When I questioned the change, the owner explained that my requested layout wouldn't have been legible and emphasized her expertise in engraving. That's precisely why I would expect her to clearly communicate those limitations before accepting an order, rather than expecting customers to know them.
I understand that engraving has limitations, but changing a personalized order without the customer's approval is poor customer service. A simple conversation beforehand could have prevented the entire issue.

I do take great pains to outline the parameters of what is allowed for engraving characters and lines on my website where it is clearly stated under the description of the tag. Unfortunately, I am unable to account for every scenario and do reserve the right to change lines where the information is not readable or able to fit. I never eliminate information.
Calling customers is just not an option within the pricing of the product. I really do not want to have to raise prices.
I do rely on people to carefully read and research the engraving parameters on my site before ordering!

great product.

great product! Made in Maine. Very happy with purchase

Really nice! Bold letters, very easy to read.

Good replacement for tags liable to come off

We got the slip on because, for the second time, the dog's hang-down tag got ripped off and lost. Fits great; easy to read; best of all: doesn't jingle.

5-Star Review for the Dog Tag

I’m really impressed with this dog tag! The engraving is crisp, deep, and very well-defined, making all my dog’s information clear and professional-looking. The font is excellent—bold and highly readable even from a distance, which is exactly what you want for a pet ID tag. What stands out most is the quality of the engraving. I’m confident the name and contact details won’t fade or wear off over time like some cheaper tags I’ve tried. Plus, the tag gave me plenty of room to include extra details (microchip number, allergies, etc.) without feeling cramped, unlike many other tags I looked at.Highly recommend! Great product that gives me peace of mind every time my dog wears it.
