Materials
Our small stainless steel dog tag featuring a Heart with a Paw Print is unmatched for its durability and classy good looks. The tag is cast from yacht grade duplex 2205 stainless steel at a foundry here in Maine. The duplex 2205 stainless steel alloy we use is unsurpassed for its hardness and non-corrosive properties. The alloy will NEVER rust (even in salt water), shrivel, bend, blacken, become dull, or wear through at the loop. 7/8″ in diameter, the tag is also thick and measures the whopping equivalent of two dimes stacked together. A very thick bale or loop insures the tag will not wear through, fall off, or be lost. If you are looking for a truly indestructible dog id tag for your little guy or gal, this is the one, and its CHEW PROOF!
Front & Back
The front of the small stainless steel Heart dog tag has a sweet raised graphic of a Heart with an adorable paw print! This highly polished Heart stands proudly above a recessed matte stainless steel surface to give the tag a real jewelry like, two toned appearance that is truly unique. The matte surface stays matte because it is recessed. The back of the tag holds your engraving on its polished surface.
Engraving
Engraving quality is just as important as the tag design and material itself. The small stainless steel Heart ID tag boasts 3 lines of engraving which includes 12 characters per line. A pulsed fiber laser is used to deeply vaporize metal from the lines being engraved. The laser process leaves a very crisp, well defined, blackened line behind which is really optimal for readability. A lifetime guarantee accompanies all of our tags and that guarantee includes the engraving as well as the tag.
Also, if for some reason, you ever need to change the information on the back of your tag, we can regrind, polish, and engrave the tag all over again. There is a charge for this service but it insures that you will never have to truly replace your tag. After all, a Silver Paw tag is a “forever tag” that you will eventually cherish even more one day…
Both a split ring and s-hook are included with each tag for collar attachment.

Beautiful product!!! We have a puppy who is pure white and had been searching for a dog tag that wouldn’t discolor their fur, which means it must be made of stainless steel. There are very few companies that make stainless steel ID dog tags and if they do they are not anywhere near the quality of Silverpawtags.com. Beyond thrilled with this tag! Exactly what I was looking! I’d purchased other tags that were so cheap and flimsy, and you could barely read the engraving. Silver Paws is high quality with exceptional engraving! It even comes in a little velvet-like pouch! It’s a little pricier than some, but it really is true that you get what you pay for. If you spend $4 on a tag, the metal will likely be inferior and the engraving will be barely readable, and that’s if you’re lucky. Spend a little extra and get top quality from the start!

Lovely product, despite my mistake

I received the terrific, small, heart themed, engraved name tag for our Scout. Love it. However, when I read it closely, I realized that I must have written the phone number (my wife’s cell phone number) wrong on the order, so now we have a great new tag but with an incorrect phone number. We may put tape over it. We’re bummed but love the tag so will still use it. You guys do nice work!

I’ll wear out before the tag does! Absolutely superb in every respect. This is the second one for Nina. (She wore out the clasp for the first one.) I am spot welding a split ring to further strengthen the new clasp. Was going to try a silver paw clasp, but this way guarantees no repeat of the previous loss. Nina spends more time rolling in the M,B and B no matter the location. Lindy is a bit more sedate and has had her silver paw tag for years. Remember, you get what you pay for.
